Happy Mother’s Day

An Ode to Mom

When I was a fetus
you carried me in your womb
and when I was born
you gave me my own room.

You fed me, you bathed me,
you changed my bum
and now, when I ask
you always give me gum.

We used to rent movies
and cry and cry
and once on a wintry roadtrip
I thought we might die.

But at least we had Sun Jammin’,
our only cassette tape
and sometime I’d like you to make me
a delicious crepe.

We used to eat Mr. Noodles
and peanuts in the night;
I loved my Barbie camping van
you put it together just right.

Anyway I should end this,
I could really go on forever
and I’m sure that it is something
quite difficult to endeavor…. for everyone but my mom.

I love you mom, you’re the bomb, you’re not always calm, you didn’t go to prom, or vietnam.

To my mom, with love, from your daughter.

PS – there are tons of pictures on Flickr now.
