Greetings from our new home!

We moved in last Friday and are getting settled in pretty well, but still have a few boxes to unpack.  We are so excited about our first little house.  It is in such a great neighbourhood.  It is a 15 minute walk to the church, which is so good for us, especially with having one car.  Also, there is a grocery store, shopping mall, restaurants, Blockbuster, Starbucks etc. just a 5-minute walk away.  La Collina, a scrumptious bakery and coffee shop is just around the corner, probably 2 minutes away.

Yet, it is a quiet street, with lots of parking and two children’s parks really close, and another one en route to the church.

I love having my own place.  I feel like we are a real family now, which might sound odd.  It’s our place, where our family lives and only our family truly knows.  And at night when Eva is asleep in her room upstairs and we are downstairs hanging out, I realize: we are the adults here.  Which is cool and overwhelming at the same time.  Did I just say it’s cool to be an adult?  Well, it is.

Anyway, the past couple of weeks has pretty much been all about packing and moving and unpacking and cleaning.  I am kind of looking forward to getting away with that.  Of course, once you own a house, what is always on the “to-do” list is house projects or renovations.  We don’t have anything major that we’re doing but of course little touch-ups are a must.

So that’s really all.  Just an update from our new place, now that we finally have phone/internet/cable.

Congratulations again! Love the house and can’t wait to see it in person.

  3. What an adorable house. I remember when we first bought our house. I think we went years where every once in a while we would look at each other and say “we are the grown up and we own our own house!” It’s so much fun.

    i’m stoked for you guys!
considering i won’t be buying a house for a good 10 years with the amount of debt i’m in, and the housing market, i have to live vicariously through people.
    congrats! can’t wait to visit!
